ESG Analyst

Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an ESG Analyst to join the team and help carry out the scheme's research, stewardship activities and integration of its ESG priorities including climate change, nature and biodiversity, human rights, human capital, health and technology. The role will contribute to ensuring that Nest's reporting, proxy voting and engagement activities continue to be delivered to a high standard and in line with its ESG investment beliefs, policies and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Sustainability Strategy and will work closely with other members of the responsible investment team and wider investment team.

The successful candidate will help carry out the scheme's stewardship and reporting activities. The role will assist in researching new ESG issues and develop existing ESG policies as well as ensuring that Nest's reporting and engagement activities continue to be delivered to a high standard in line with its RI objectives, policies and industry initiatives.

Nest Invest is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). For the role holder, this means working in a regulated entity, and being required to adhere to certain rules and behaviours included in the FCA's Code of Conduct (COCON), specifically the individual Conduct Rules defined by the FCA.

Directorate/Department Overview

The Responsible Investment team is a small and dynamic team that sits within the in-house investment team. Its primary purposes are to develop and manage the scheme's approach to ESG and stewardship and formulate recommendations on policy and investment strategy that will benefit and enhance the investment approach.

Nest has a reputation as a progressive and innovative, high quality and responsible investor. It has created an FCA authorised investment subsidiary, Nest Invest, in order to continue its evolution and in which this role will sit. With over £40bn of assets under management, there is a need to ensure that the investment approach remains fit for purpose as the assets scale.

From December 2019, the Nest Investment team was seconded into Nest Invest Ltd (Nest Invest), the investment subsidiary of Nest Corporation.
