Procurement Manager

An established organisation in Oxford is seeking a Procurement Manager to join their team, offering a salary of up to £74,000.

As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless availability of direct and indirect materials and services across all functional areas of the business, thereby driving operational efficiency and effectiveness.

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess previous experience in purchasing or procurement, specifically within the medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, with a deep understanding of the industry's unique challenges and requirements.

Role responsibilities of the Procurement Manager include:

  • Lead the procurement function, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices
  • Manage orders for direct and indirect materials, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to demonstrate control and effectiveness of procurement
  • Manage suppliers, negotiating contracts and improving their SQDC performance
  • Work with Finance to develop annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to ensure effective and compliant procurement practices

Person Specification of the Procurement Manager:

  • Proven leadership experience in medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing procurement (essential)
  • Strong team management and collaboration skills
  • Thorough understanding of procurement processes and supply chain best practices in regulated industries
  • ERP system expertise and MRP methodologies knowledge
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities
  • High attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving mindset

Salary

Up to £74k

Hybrid with maximum 2 days a week working from home
