Director of Finance and Resources

Are you ready to make a significant impact on an educational institution by ensuring financial stability and operational excellence?

This permanent Director of Finance and Resources will report into the Principal and will provide strategic oversight and operational management of the organisation's finances, IT, facilities, and Health & Safety whilst managing a team of five. The role will ensure compliance with financial, legal, tax, and Department for Education regulations.

Key duties for this role will include:

  • Manage the organisation's overall financial operations, including the development and implementation of financial strategies.
  • Monitor economic indicators and funding trends to support scenario planning and risk management.
  • Provide financial analysis to inform decision-making by the Board of Trustees and senior management.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring effective budget control.
  • Develop strategies for income generation.
  • Lead a team of five, overing continuous support, guidance and coaching.
  • Manage the IT function, developing and implementing the IT strategy to ensure alignment with the organisations objectives.
  • Be accountable for facilities and health and safety ensuring functionality, safety and sustainability.

This Director of Finance and Resources will be based onsite at the school in Slough and our client is seeking candidates from the local area. Employee benefits include, flexible working, generous annual leave and a defined benefit pension scheme.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified Accountant.
  • Have previously worked in both a commercial and school setting.
  • Describe themself as a driven and inspiring leader.
  • Have proven experience working at board level.
  • Have looked after wider resources including IT and Health and Safety/Facilities.
