What it's like to work here

Reporting into our Property Operations Manager, you'll work as part of a friendly team of three cleaners with your hours spread over 4 days and occasional additional days to cover holidays. Every year over 140,000 people visit Sutton Hoo to see a place often referred to as the first page of English history. This Anglo-Saxon burial site is home to a series of burial mounds including the famous Mound One ship burial. There is also an exhibition hall, house, cafe, shop, visitor welcome building, second hand bookshop and education area. From February to November the property is open daily. During Winter hours, the buildings are closed during the week, giving the cleaning team a chance to focus on deep cleans and conservation cleaning (training provided).

As a General Cleaner, you'll go out of your way for others and you'll help to make our property an extra special place to visit. You'll turn your practical hand to all sorts of cleaning, ensuring all our facilities are kept in good working order.
