Bid Writer Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Location: Farringdon, City of London

Hybrid: 2 days in the office / 3 days working from home

A successful and leading management consultancy and recruitment practice in the public and not-for-profit sectors is urgently recruiting for a Bid Writer based in Farringdon. You will be responsible of the coordination of all bids and tenders, writing high quality bids to support the growth of the business. Looking for an experienced Bid Writer who has written bids for the not-for-profit sector with a keen eye of detail and the ability to write with flair and creatively that conveys what the practice has to offer. This is currently a 6-month contract which may go on longer.

Key responsibilities:

  • Acting as the liaison for the bid, coordinating input from senior staff and freelancers associates
  • Advising on project methodology and resource allocation for a bid, determining pricing and fee approach
  • Ensuring smooth bid coordination processes and timely submissions
  • Writing compelling and high-quality bids, tenders and proposals for the provision of a range of consultancy areas.
  • Establishing robust bid infrastructure, maintaining bid log, and providing essential company information
  • Updating case study database and maintaining records for performance reporting
  • Effective record-keeping, liaising with the Business Manager and others to support performance and business reporting
  • Keeping the bids infrastructure under review to raise standards and ensure we pre-prevent changes in bidding activity
  • Participating in pitch meetings, preparing presentations, and promotional materials
  • Maintaining relevant external relationships, with a professional network that can further bid activity at the practice
  • Cultivating external relationships to enhance bidding opportunities and supporting new business initiatives
  • Monitoring competitors strategies and staying updated on bidding best practices

Essential:

  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • Proven success in writing winning bids, preferably contributing to substantial business growth
  • Strong understanding of bid and tender-writing processes
  • Insight into how bids work for local government, charities or social housing organisations
  • Excellent project management skills; able to co-ordinate activities involving a range of people
  • Competent mathematical skills; able to prepare budgets and complete pricing schedules for bids
  • Knowledge of social policy in areas such as housing, regeneration, social care and support, health, service improvement would be an advantage.
  • Solid experience of MS Office applications, in particular Word, Excel, and Outlook
