Bennett and Game are working alongside a UK-focused specialist logistics group that is growing fast through acquisitions and organic growth. Working towards its vision of building a leading, nationwide specialist logistics group. They are backed by a large US-based fund, and have former senior execs of major companies on the team offering great experience. There will be opportunities for the individual to grow as the group continues to expand. The role is Hybrid based and their office is based in Wetherby.
**Transport/ Operations Manager
Position Overview
Building and maintaining excellent relationships with existing and new clients
- Growing the business profitably, ie proactively identifying opportunities to increase
sales to existing customers, and new customer opportunities
- Managing the team: identify hiring needs, nurture employees, set pay levels etc
- Managing the fleet effectively: optimising utilisation and fleet composition
- Cash flow management: ensure we get paid on time, and review / approve Accounts Payable
- You will be supported by a group-level team including marketing, finance, admin &
bookkeeping support
**Transport/ Operations Manager
Position Requirements
- Have held a management role at a small or mid-sized logistics company, or even owned your own logistics business in the past
- Pro-activity: you are highly pro-active and have a 'can-do' attitude by nature
- Have extensive operational experience in logistics, taking an ownership of a fleet and managing a team of drivers and sub-contractors
**Transport/ Operations Manager
Position Remuneration
Initially starting as Transport / Operations Manager, learning the ropes from the
incumbent Managing Director, earning £35,000 per annum
- Fully taking over as General Manager in March 2025, earning £50-70,000 including
salary & bonus (£45,000 salary + £5-15,000 bonus)
