Barnsley Council have 2 positions available as a **Graduate Apprentice (Finance)**to join the team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a full-time, 3 year fixed term contract (37hours per week)and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £23,500 - £23,893 per annum.

The successful candidate will join an experienced team at Barnsley Council that values and supports your development alongside gaining a level 4 qualification relevant to the post.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will have the chance to work across the Operational Finance Service, gaining knowledge and experience within the Benefits, Taxation and Corporate Debt Teams, supporting the administration of Council Tax billing and collection as well as supporting the processes within Council Tax Support and Housing Benefit. This crucial role will support our community and ensures funding for vital services in the borough, aligning with the Council's commitment to efficient and effective service delivery.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, with excellent communication skills with an interest in a career in financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working to administer Council Tax & Council Tax collections. Support timely payment of Council Tax Support, Housing Benefits & Free School Meals.
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial processing to support the Council's objectives.
- Working closely with Finance Officers to support service delivery.
- Commitment to completing Institute of Revenues, Ratings and Valuation (IRRV) level 4 qualification.
