Mawdsleys are a global pharmaceutical service provider offering a wide range of services to the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sector.

We are the largest independent pharmaceutical wholesaler in the UK with a fast growing international network supplying medicines to meet patient needs and providing a route to market for manufacturers.
We are fully managed and regulatory compliant, sourcing imported medicines for specific patient needs. The company is experiencing growth at the moment, providing a much needed healthcare service.

Role Overview

As a Mawdsleys Regional Hospital Account Manager, you will be responsible for all wholesale business within the defined region of Northern England and Scotland. You will act as the central point of contact for your customers, and will develop strategies to develop the service to our valued hospital customers – enhancing loyalty to Mawdsleys and driving turnover.

The role is relationship-focused, and success will be dependent on excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. You will work with strategic stakeholders, both internally and in the hospital sector, to identify commercial and service opportunities for your region.

Customers will include, but not be limited to, pharmacy procurement leads, RPPS leads, regional consortia and procurement hubs, but any other decision makers within the Hospital pharmaceutical supply chain, therefore previous experience with these customer groups would clearly be advantageous.

Not only will external relationships be important, but internal stakeholder relationships will also be critical to success. Therefore, the role will be predominantly based at our Salford Head Office on a flexible basis, with the requirement to liaise with internal teams, such as customer services, operations and quality teams. Travel to other depots will be required on an ad-hoc basis, depending on business need.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Ability to travel/drive – a full and clean driver's licence will be required and you will need to be happy to travel across the assigned territory;
  • IT Literacy – you will need to be competent across Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Commercial acumen – you will need to be able to show evidence of successfully influencing, negotiating and presenting to customers;
  • Personality attributes - you will be a self-starter who is able to keep themselves disciplined. Tenacity is key to our commercial team, and we will need you to work strategically towards long-term goals;
  • Cross-functional approach- you will need to be able to work cross-functionally within the entire Group, including but not limited to, finance, regulatory, quality, customer service and operational members of Mawdsleys;
  • Creativity – you will need to be proactive and have a creative approach to problem-solving, and be able to prioritise complex workloads where necessary.

You may have experience in the following roles: Pharmaceutical Sales Manager, Key Account Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Hospital Sales Specialist, Regional Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Medical Sales Representative, Commercial Account Manager, Healthcare Relationship Manager, Pharmaceutical Product Manager, etc.
