**Minibus Driver
- Job Type: Temporary Cover for one week only- 23rd September 2024 - 8th October 2024
- Salary: £14.84- £16.75 per hour, depending on experience.
- 30 hours per week 9am - 3.30pm and increased hours available if you are prepared to help with maintenance and repairs which will then be 7.45am - 4pm (M- Th) and 7.45am- 3.45pm (F).
An adult and child workforce enhanced DBS check with child and adult barring checks is required for this role.
We are seeking a dedicated Minibus Driver to join our team, responsible for the safe transportation of staff and learners to various community venues. The role requires adherence to the Highway Code and relevant legislation, ensuring the safety of all passengers and the public.
Day to Day of the role:
- Drive the college minibus as required, which may involve working flexible hours.
- Maintain the cleanliness, serviceability, and roadworthiness of college vehicles.
- Ensure all legal and statutory requirements, such as insurance and road tax, are met.
- Fuel and check vehicles before each journey.
- Inspect all mechanical equipment prior to use, ensuring cleanliness, oil top-up, and servicing.
- Maintain a detailed log of journeys.
- Support the Site Supervisor with general duties, including traffic flow management at the College when needed.
- Report any accidents, dangerous occurrences, or health and safety threats immediately to the Head of Estates & Facilities or Senior Premises Officer and record them in the Incident Book.
- Comply with current College policies, including Equality and Diversity policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A valid driving license with the appropriate category to drive a minibus.
- Knowledge of the Highway Code and relevant transport legislation.
- Experience in a similar driving role is preferred.
- Good communication skills to liaise with students, carers, college staff, and the public.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- A commitment to maintaining high safety standards and vehicle upkeep.
- Awareness of and commitment to Equality and Diversity principles.
