We are seeking an Examinations Officer to ensure the efficient and effective management and administration of all aspects of public and internal examinations within our educational institution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organising examination schedules, managing invigilation, and ensuring compliance with examination board regulations.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Organise public and internal examinations, including scheduling, room allocation, and invigilation.
  • Administer Cognitive Abilities Tests (CATs) for Year 7 students and qualifications for 6th Form Enrichment courses.
  • Handle requests for special consideration and access arrangements for students with individual needs.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Examination Boards and distribute relevant information to staff.
  • Oversee the preparation of examination areas and secure storage of examination materials.
  • Advise students regarding enquiries about results and coordinate examination dates with the school calendar.
  • Liaise with curriculum leaders and teachers regarding examination entries and provide guidance on key responsibilities related to examinations.
  • Recruit, manage, and train a team of external invigilators in line with JCQ guidelines.
  • Manage the examinations budget and maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Deal with correspondence and manage relevant budgets, ensuring adherence to school policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an examinations officer role or similar administrative position within an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the JCQ guidelines and examination board regulations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Competency in using IT systems for record-keeping and examination management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
