Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Associate Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery at our Chichester campus. You will join us on a bank basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £25.30 - £39.47 per hour.

The Associate Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Construction learners at our outstanding Chichester College.

Our Construction department has been growing over the past few years and there will be a continued growth in the coming years. The Construction team are very dynamic and creative in their approach to delivering an outstanding experience for learners wishing to pursue a career in construction. Do you feel you would fit into this team?

If you answered Yes, then you will be self-motivated and want to inspire the next generation of construction workers. You will have relevant industry experience and Level 2 qualification in a related subject and be able to use most Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Word.

Key Responsibilities of our Associate Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational and carpentry & joinery sector.
  • Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
  • To have the ability to undertake assessments off site and on campus.

Our ideal Associate Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in related subject
  • Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • To obtain an appropriate teaching qualification as defined by the Corporation
  • To undertake continuing professional development
