Business Development Manager

I am currently working in partnership with an industry leading global leader, who specialises in providing cleaner, softer water through innovative, sustainable solutions and unparalleled service across all sectors including drinks, food processing, pharmaceutical and data centres.

They provide innovative drinking water solutions, water softener products, and commercial water treatment for a wide range of sectors. They design, sell, install, and service a wide range of water treatment products and systems, their brands are powered by innovation and strive to transform the UK's water.

We are specifically seeking an enthusiastic individual, who is passionate about leadership and can open doors, share growth and have a collaborative mindset.

The Role:

The Business Development Manager will be required meet performance objectives of Order Intake and Revenue of Standard Equipment process systems. The role covers a region of the UK as agreed with the Sales Manager.

The successful candidate will be a high-performing Business Development Professional and will work with Building Services and Public Health consultants to ensure equipment is included into their specifications. The role will also include directly selling to Contractors and end users.

The successful candidate will also assist colleagues in a variety of duties as needed. This role therefore requires a person with a flexible mind-set, can-do attitude and determination to win.

Main Responsibilities:

Target and work with building services and public health consultants to ensure the companies equipment is specified for new projects.

Gain consultant acceptance of Technical Submissions when the company is not specified on a target project with support from sales and technical colleagues as required.

Directly sell to contractors and end users and secure new business across the key market sectors in which we operate with support from internal sales colleagues as needed.

Build and promote strong, long-lasting relationships with consultants and contractors by partnering with them and understanding their needs.

Develop and own the strategic plan for the region with a balance of short and long term objectives.

Specific Job Function:

Generate new sales through establishing strong relationships with Buyers, Specifiers and Decision-Makers. This will be through a combination of remote contacts, visits to site and customer offices.

Identify, contact and visit consultants to gain acceptance of the companies equipment.

Conduct CPD presentations (on-line video conferencing or in person).

Build market intelligence by working with consultants to gain advance knowledge of upcoming projects and the state of the market.

Work with and support colleagues to gain acceptance of the businesses equipment on live projects.

Generate high quality technical proposals for selected projects.

Work in tandem with the internal support function where appropriate to develop and deliver proposals.

Report and forecast as directed Management on orders won and expected.

Maintain and manage pipeline of live projects and report on any that are not won.

Self-motivated with high level of personal responsibility

Able to communicate fluently/effectively in English

Strong technical abilities and numeracy skills

Possess good problem-solving skills

Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently

Excellent interpersonal skills; professional and strong powers of communication

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Science or Engineering would be an advantage

Technical knowledge of Water Treatment systems would be an advantage

Experience of selling Equipment and Service

Goal-oriented, organized team player

Self-motivated and self-directed

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills

Proven experience in account management

Strong computer skills including CRM, Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding targets in a commercial environment
