About the Role

The Group Financial Controller will play a leading role in the Finance Team and be instrumental in the company's growth plans. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Group Financial Controller is responsible for all day-to-day financial matters, including reporting, budgeting, and managing an accounts team of five. Additionally, they will review pricing strategies, tenders, and RFP approaches, and evaluate business units/activities to meet budget. This role is ideal for a genuine self-starter with the ability, potential, and a thirst to learn and grow as the company does.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management Accounts: Lead the delivery of monthly group management accounts, managing key stakeholders and gaining Senior Leadership sign-off.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a small accounts team in the UK and Pakistan, leading them to deliver day-to-day financial tasks and the overall Finance Roadmap.
  • Budget Process: Build the overall group and individual business unit budgets, establish reporting processes, and perform periodic reforecasts.
  • Core Finance Processes: Handle revenue management and reconciliation, cash flow, treasury, and FX management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Constantly review and improve financial processes and procedures, documenting these as appropriate.
  • Annual Accounting Processes: Manage the year-end accounts process and statutory account drafting.
  • Banking Relationships: Maintain the relationship with banks, ensuring efficient banking processes that support growth.

General Capabilities

  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and implement process improvements.
  • Customer Data Excellence: Understand and report on data trends, maintaining accurate data on all systems.
  • Personal Development: Engage in personal development and training to enhance role effectiveness and deliver team training when required.
  • Legal and Regulatory: Maintain records in line with legislation, particularly GDPR, AML, and Health and Safety.

What We Are Looking For

  • ACA/ACCA part-qualified or AAT qualified, ideally from a mid-sized, multi-entity group background.
  • Excellent Excel and financial modeling experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of integration across different business processes, software, and databases.
  • Experience in designing financial processes in software platforms is desirable but not essential.
