They are seeking a talented Associate to join their team based in their London office!

About the Team

Their seasoned team offers strategic counsel to clients of diverse scales, spanning from startups to multinational corporations, across various sectors. This is including finance, technology, life sciences, Internet of Things (IoT), social media, connected mobility, and biotechnology.

About the Role

  • Operating within a dynamic and stimulating environment, the firm engage in compelling, state-of-the-art projects encompassing all facets of UK and EU privacy and data protection laws.
  • Additionally, they increasingly focus on digital regulatory matters, such as compliance with the Digital Services Act (DSA), Digital Markets Act (DMA), Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act, and Online Safety Act (OSA).
  • The team also represent clients in high-stakes investigations initiated by data protection regulators worldwide, including those in the UK, the EU, and the US.
  • Their expertise extends to advising on GDPR and UK GDPR compliance initiatives, crafting strategies for international data transfers, addressing data breaches and cybersecurity incidents.
  • The successful candidate will gain expertise by handling privacy aspects of corporate transactions, negotiating contracts, and representing clients in litigation before national courts and the European Court of Justice.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 to 6 years of post-qualification experience, with an EU qualification being advantageous.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and professional background in UK data protection and cybersecurity law.
  • Exceptional academic credentials coupled with effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Desired experience includes familiarity with technology sectors, government regulations related to technology, and policies enforced by data protection regulators concerning data protection and cybersecurity issues.
  • Strongly preferred qualifications include familiarity with computer programming, network technologies, database design, and web technologies.
