Part-Time Purchasing Assistant

Position: Purchasing Assistant
Location: Banbury
Salary: £15,132
Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, flexi time available)
Potential: Potential to increase hours

Job Role:
To assist the purchasing team in the continuous process involved in the supply of products, which begins with identifying customer needs and ends with delivering customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate Bills of Materials for production from information supplied by the Technical Teams.
  • Raise works orders.
  • Raise purchase orders from processed works orders.
  • Send orders to suppliers via email from Sage.
  • Chase suppliers for updates on orders.
  • Place and track orders, including office supplies and employee requests.
  • Ensure the timely ordering and restocking of coffee supplies and related items.
  • Perform regular updates to the Engineering Change Request (ECR) system.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to implement ECR changes and troubleshoot issues.
  • End of Month Data Reporting.
  • Handle and prioritise incoming site requests.
  • Communicate with site managers and relevant departments to address and fulfillrequests accurately.
  • Assist with stock taking by inputting information and counting stock.
  • Perform necessary administration tasks related to the above responsibilities.
  • Cover colleagues' tasks during absence as allocated by the Purchasing Manager.

Requirements:

Education and Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a busy office environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Computer literate with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent administrative coordination skills.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy.
  • Database management.
  • Experience with SAGE ERP 1000 is desirable.
