Role Overview

Axon Moore are proud to be supporting an excellent, growing business in Leeds City Centre who offer an online services to their half a million daily website visitors.

In a newly created role, you will work with the small finance team to support on the transactional finance side of the business.

We are looking for a stand out Finance Assistant with the right character and attitude to deal with a fast-paced, challenging, yet highly rewarding working environment.

This role would suit someone who is ambitious, driven, with excellent communication and relationship building skills; specifically it would be great if you had purchase ledger experience, are a self-starter and could hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

This newly created role will span across our group's finance function focussing primarily on accounts payable and receivable as well as assisting in preparation of monthly Management Accounts.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Timely processing of orders and purchase invoices
  • Processing staff expenses ensuring claims are in line with company policies
  • Preparation of bi-monthly payment runs
  • Regular bank reconciliation
  • Credit control and aged debtor analysis
  • Reconciliation of sales invoices with sales system and recording transaction numbers
  • Investigating any account discrepancies and raising queries with relevant parties
  • Assisting Management Accountants with month end prepayment, accrual and intercompany recharge schedules.
  • preparing and maintaining our Sustainability reports and trackers
  • Ad-Hoc duties falling under finance assistant's remit

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role in practice or industry
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Familiarity with Financial Statements (SOFP, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statements)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (creating, maintaining and integrating spreadsheets and workbooks using functions, formulae and pivot tables)
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Strong numeracy skills and high level of accuracy in data entry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively

Desirable:

  • Experience with reporting and data systems (Sales Force, Google Analytics, AutoEntry, Satago)
