Senior Product Manager- Wealth Management

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a Central London based Private bank as a Senior Product Manager, dealing with UHNW clients. The Senior Product Manager will lead the development and management of Banking and Treasury products for private and commercial clients, focusing on banking, savings, and deposit offerings. Oversee Product Governance and Product & Proposition Managers to ensure optimal client outcomes and alignment with strategic objectives, while adhering to FCA and PRA Conduct Rules and prioritising customer interests.

Key Responsibilities:

Product & Proposition Development

  • Collaborate with product owners to identify and develop opportunities for enhancing client propositions and products in alignment with strategic goals, using client insights, data, and research to inform decisions and manage risks. Oversee Product Managers in designing, testing, and delivering new initiatives that meet Consumer Duty outcomes and business needs.
  • Manage the portfolio of new developments, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery. Support the preparation and approval of business cases, maintain stakeholder engagement, and coordinate with marketing for successful product launches.

Product & Proposition Management

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of banking and treasury products, supporting Product Managers and conducting post-launch reviews to ensure client outcomes and regulatory compliance. Use data to monitor performance, assess risks, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Regularly review product collateral to enhance consumer understanding and address pain points in client journeys. Lead the decommissioning of products and propositions that no longer meet client or business needs.

Product & Proposition Governance

  • Conduct regular reviews of all in-scope products and services, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks, including the New Consumer Duty. Oversee activities by Product Governance and Product & Proposition Managers to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
  • Perform service reviews with third-party providers, assist in committee reporting, and provide technical support. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and compliance with policies, ensuring Product Managers use appropriate tools and systems.

Line Management

  • Lead and manage a team of Product Governance and Product & Proposition Managers, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and high-quality output through regular oversight and technical guidance.
  • Foster team development by identifying skill gaps, providing training and coaching, and promoting continuous learning. Conduct regular one-on-ones, coordinate activities, and monitor key performance indicators.

Risk Management:

  • Diligently manage risks associated with the role by adhering to internal policies and procedures.

Key Interfaces:

  • Collaborate with product owners, senior stakeholders, department heads, and the product & proposition team, including the insights manager.
  • Engage with compliance, legal, risk, marketing, business management, operations, change teams, front office distribution teams, advisers, and relationship managers.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Private Banking, Wealth Management, or regulated financial services, including product management, strategy development, project management, and change implementation. Proven ability to deliver new products and propositions.
  • Strong leadership in managing and developing teams, with in-depth knowledge of banking, credit, investment, and wealth planning products. Expertise in regulatory requirements, particularly the New Consumer Duty, with excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong business and commercial focus, skilled in using MI and data to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred professional qualification, e.g., CISI Chartered Wealth Manager.
