Workshop Technician Wireperson

Adecco are recruiting for an experienced Workshop Technician Wireperson for our National client, based in Rochester, Kent.

The successful candidate will join a team of 12, with no direct reports, working on multiple projects. You must have strong experience within electrical wiring installations, preferably within the energy industry. Experience of control panel wiring, and electrical testing is highly desirable.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

  • Assembly and wiring of high accuracy metering systems into floor standing cubicles and wall mounted enclosures within a workshop environment.
  • To follow general arrangement and electrical wiring diagrams to ensure wiring and assembly are compliant with design drawings and schematics.
  • To work safely in accordance with relevant safety procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
  • To deliver high quality workmanship in a structured and organised way to support business targets and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for checking, testing, and recording written results of completed work.
  • Responsible for marking up drawings to as built status.
  • To use hand tools and wiring tools professionally and efficiently.
  • To work effectively within a team environment.
  • Occasional site work may be required to support site installation activities; however, this role is otherwise Workshop based.
  • Supports maintenance of technical documentations of processes and equipment.
  • Plans and executes assigned maintenance projects.

Education / Qualifications

  • Good general education.
  • Electrical Wiring Regulations.
  • SHEA Power; highly desirable but not essential.
  • National Grid Persons; highly desirable but not essential.

Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills

  • A strong understanding of electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral.
  • Good personal organisation and time management.
  • Proactive team player.

The successful candidate will need to be willing to complete medical and drugs and alcohol tests, and security clearance prior to the assignment starting. Any offer of employment made will be subject to these being completed satisfactorily.
