Electrical Engineer

This role will allow you to work on a high-profile contract within a large, state-of-the-art commercial office building in Birmingham. Recently refurbished this critical banking environment requires top-tier engineering expertise to ensure the smooth operation of essential systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on critical systems, including UPS systems, generators, and chilled water plants.
  • Maintain and test fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and HVAC control systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of lighting systems, distribution boards, and switchgear.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, power supplies, and control panels.
  • Monitor and maintain BMS to ensure energy efficiency and system optimisation.
  • Carry out PPM on building services systems to minimise downtime.
  • Respond to and resolve any reactive maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and electrical regulations.
  • Assist in managing critical incidents or system failures, working quickly to resolve issues.
  • Work as part of a dedicated team to ensure smooth operation of the building's systems.

Key Requirements:

  • Fully qualified in electrical maintenance (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of building services with a minimum of 3 years experience
  • Client facing and approachable
  • Experience with critical environments such as banking or data centres (preferable)
  • Willingness to undertake high voltage training (preferable)

Salary & Benefits:

  • £38,000 - £40,000 per annum.
  • Monday to Friday - 3-shift basis: 0600-1500, 0800-1700, and 1300-2200
  • Call-out rota (1 in 6) with a standby payment of £150 per week. (Use of pool van)
  • Overtime readily available and paid at 1.5x and 2.0x.
