Our client, a global music publishers' Royalty division, is seeking a self-motivated UK Royalty Manager to manage outbound royalty distribution cycles and enhance auditing administration. The role offers 1 day WFH per week.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing all outbound royalty distributions to UK signed songwriters.
- Handling external client audits and audit settlement negotiations.
- Overseeing extensive data gathering for external audits and analysis of audit reports.
- Managing current and future SOX controls relating to outbound distributions.
- Line managing direct reports to include training and direction towards administration targets.
- Monitoring team workload and priorities and work towards agreed KPIs.
- Working with Income Tracking, Finance, and Copyright teams to improve administration efficiencies and training initiatives.
- Taking responsibility for cross-training of team members' responsibilities.
- Ensuring the team accurately complete all pre/post-run distribution tasks within timeframes.
- Reporting on a weekly basis to the department Head with KPI and output reports.
- Supervising client onboarding for all new and existing signings.
- Ensuring effective administration of all necessary client file updates and verifying writer forms in line with security measures.
- Managing the ingestion of financial transactions into the in-house copyright and royalty system.
- Fielding complex royalty queries from songwriters and the business.
Requirements:
- Previous experience managing/supervising within Publishing Administration.
- Proven track record working within financial or royalty accounting.
- Confident leader of small teams and aptitude to management.
- Experience assessing staff training and development needs.
- Experience with contributing to data migration implementation projects and system enhancements to include UAT.
- Understanding of the full cycle of music publishing.
- Familiarity with SOX controls and able to work with external auditors.
- Demonstrable experience successfully managing client audits and external audits.
- Experience using copyright and royalty systems.
- Experience working with Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx.
- Comprehensive knowledge of data file types: CRD/CSV/DIF/FLAT/TEXT) to support royalty ingestion and outbound reporting.
- Experience with SQL.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to include Power Pivot and Power Query, macros, and financial formulae. Able to extract detail from large data files and manipulate data.
- Experience/knowledge of DSP licencing and understanding of the digital music supply chain.
- Understanding of the international society network.
- Capable of communicating well with colleagues, management, and clients.
- High-level numeracy.
- Good attention to detail.
- Organisational abilities able to meet deadlines and work calmy under pressure.
