Finance Manager

This is an exciting, all-round role based in Putney for a Finance Manager.

Reporting into the Finance Director and managing a team of 4x reports this is a hybrid role with 3x days in the office.

Finance Manager Responsibilities:

  • Management accounts

  • Prepare monthly management accounts.

  • Distribute to all relevant recipients and obtain relevant feedback from all departments.

  • Debtors' management and process improvement

  • Financial Statements

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for 5 companies.

  • Prepare the tax pack and liaise with auditors

  • Budgets

  • Preparation of Annual budgets, half year forecasts

  • Liaising with departmental managers to understand and improve their understanding of financial issues.

  • Write Budget/MYR/Forecast commentary detailing major variances for review by Finance Controller.

  • Cashflow

  • Manage short-, medium- and long-term budgets in multi-currency.

  • Treasury management

  • Audit

  • Auditing and audit preparation of audit schedules for year-end.

  • Preparation of going concern paper

  • Tax

  • Review VAT calculation and return.

  • Liaising with tax consultants and provide

  • Corporate tax returns, VAT submission for the branch in Switzerland

  • Review of P11d calculation

  • R&D tax calculations

  • Technical

  • Prepare accounting papers for key accounting considerations within the year or new accounting standards being followed, e.g. revenue recognition, internally generated intangible assets, operating lease right of use asset and liability, Joint venture accounting

  • Finance Systems

  • Manage the company's financial accounting and IT requirements using the company's computer system and update the system as required to suit/fit the needs of the business.

  • Heading and project managing the company's ERP systems implementation.

  • Organise and manage all the IT-related issues for the company by either resolving them internally or through our outsourced IT Solutions contractor.

  • Liaise with other teams to implement, improve, and automate internal controls across finance processes.

  • Participate in and coordinate testing and training for new features, new systems interfaces, and upgrades with a finance system impact.

  • Drive continuous improvement in both efficiency and governance in finance systems/processes, including prioritizing and taking the project lead on finance system-related projects.

  • Investment portfolio

  • Obtain monthly investment portfolio statements and prepare the investment schedule

  • Event Management

  • Manage the budget, forecast and actuals

  • Team management

  • Manage 4 direct staff

  • To manage a skilled accounts department team and ensure they are fully up to date in meeting the needs of the business.

  • To ensure that excellent morale and teamwork are maintained within the department.

  • To ensure that excellent teamwork is maintained in all cross-departmental dealings/partnerships and to provide assistance as available / as requested to other departments.

  • To be a trusted and valued member of the management team and provide timely advice as applicable.

Finance Manager Skills required:

  • A qualified CIMA/ACCA/ ACA Accountant
  • Ability to commute to Putney
  • At least 5 years related experience in managerial duties.
  • Experience in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and Management Accounts
  • Detailed knowledge of end-to-end financial processes
  • Ability to build respect with managers by understanding the details of the business.
  • Ease with complex and technical regulations that affects accounting and tax.
  • Confident dealing with multiple currencies
  • Experience of financial systems implementation
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail/accuracy
