Job Description
To manage and produce the group management accounts required for the PLC board and executive board.
This role is a crucial link between the large finance team and the executives in the company allowing them to have an overview of how the business is performing in a consolidated format on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for ensuring that the monthly group management accounts are completed in an accurate & timely manner and are kept relevant and up to date with insightful variance analysis.
- To manage the month end process across finance, communicating timetables to the Accounting/Business Partner community and managing adherence to deadlines.
- Conducting monthly review sessions with the Accounting/Business Partners to understand variances within EBITDA, cashflow and KPI's, for use within the management accounts, but also to assess future risks and opportunities to achieving full year targets.
- Own group wide exceptional costs, including forecasting and analysis of actuals.
- Support select areas of external reporting, including segmental analysis
- Own management accounting structure and assist with ensuring an appropriate structure is maintained within the financial reporting system.
- To provide expert analytical support to head of FP&A in producing the quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
The Individual
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
- Excellent analytical skills, able to quickly review information and provide accurate forecasts & actuals comparisons.
- Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills e.g. forecast modelling, building reporting suits, presenting information clearly
- Able to communicate & discuss financial results to non-financial senior leaders.
- Able to adeptly look at financial & business results in a holistic manner, incorporating all components that influence and affect the organisation.
- Co-ordinating work across a large finance team.
- Experience of pulling together Exec & Board level reporting packs and information
- Up to date knowledge of finance best practice, benchmarks & methods
Education and Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant with at minimum of 5 years post qualified experience

- Enjoys challenging norms and looking for ways to improve existing processes.
- Resilient, able to remain level headed when under pressure
- Ability to work with little guidance, willingness to have a go and produce a first draft.
