Career Teachers are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher (must hold QTS/QTLS) to work on a temporary basis starting September 2024.

We are working with a secondary school in South Birmingham, who believe in the power of physical education to inspire and develop students physical, mental, and social well-being. Our school strives to nurture a caring and supportive atmosphere in which each student is recognised as an individual, actively encouraging their participation in wider school activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Promote a positive attitude towards physical fitness, health, and well-being.
  • Develop and implement a diverse curriculum that includes various sports and physical activities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable goals.
  • Organise and oversee extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular learning and contribute to the schools overall mission.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Qualifications & Requirements of PE Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in PE, Sports, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and health education principles.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their personal best.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer FREE online Safeguarding training
  • Provide a full 10-year career history and references to cover the last 2 years including current and previous employers.
