Our client, a leading distribution company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join their team. If you have a strong background in operations, excellent leadership skills, with a focus on health and safety and continuous improvement, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As the Operations Manager, you will lead the stock administration and warehouse teams at our client's state of the art Midlands Distribution Centre in Worcester. The role is to ensure the delivery of a flexible and professional service to customers and stakeholders through world class housekeeping and health and safety procedures whilst providing operational excellence. Working hours:

37.5 hrs per week; flexibility required according to business demands. Full attendance for stock counts out of hours/weekend may be required.

Travel requirement: Occasional travel to other sites within the UK

Role Overview:

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the stock administration and warehouse teams at the Worcester Distribution Centre. You will provide leadership to the Stock Admin and Warehouse teams, fostering development and contribution to the overall success of our client's operation.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge:

  • Previous operational leadership experience in a stock, production, and administration function is essential.
  • Strong understanding of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and continuous improvement principles.
  • Data-driven mindset.
  • Experience in process documentation creation is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and their configuration is essential.
  • Excellent people management skills, with a focus on development and motivation.
  • Ability to cope with change and deliver results to deadlines.
  • IT literate, with knowledge of warehouse management systems and reporting.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety and HR legislation.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all stock and administration activities at the Worcester site, ensuring KPI's are met and responsiveness is maintained.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on projects, ensuring thorough testing and approval before implementation.
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes or systems, overseeing their capture, testing, and implementation.
  • Maintain a well-trained resource pool.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with staff, measuring against agreed responsibilities, behaviours, and KPI's.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.
  • Foster a professional culture, setting high standards for behaviour and operational excellence.
  • Ensure seamless operation of all systems, aligned with quality standards.
  • Maximise business procedure efficiency.
  • Establish production KPI's and conduct quality assessments.
  • Monitor daily operations and address any potential issues.
  • Develop processes that align with business objectives and ensure compliance.
  • Review financial data and recommend solutions for improved profitability.
  • Coordinate with the HR department to meet hiring needs.
  • Incorporate external and internal stakeholder needs into strategic plans.
  • Control expenditure within budget or provide justifiable explanations for variances.
