We are looking for a dedicated Cold Store Operative to join our dynamic team. The role involves working in a cold store environment at -20 Degrees Celsius, handling various tasks such as loading and unloading vehicles, operating reach and counterbalance trucks, and maintaining high standards of operational performance and safety.
Late shift: 2pm - 10pm
Day to Day of the role:
- Load and unload vehicles using Ride-on Pallet Trucks and occasionally unload containers with loose cases.
- Retrieve and locate pallets into and out of the racking using a Reach Truck.
- Handle cases when re-working stock or picking orders.
- Check in receipted goods and complete picking and loading documents for dispatch.
- Operate a Counterbalance Truck for pallet movement and use the clamp attachment for de-topping cases.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and strive to increase operational performance.
- Liaise with the Engineering team on preventative maintenance and breakdowns to minimise equipment downtime.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all prescribed working practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Reach Truck Licence is required.
- Experience with Ride-On and Counterbalance Trucks is preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience is an advantage.
- A strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Good communication skills and a team player with a ‘can do' attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a cold store environment.
