SEN Job Coach

Are you a graduate looking to launch your career? Or maybe you have experience of working with young people and would like to join a large charity who support young people with Special Educational Needs, learning disabilities and learning difficulties to thrive in the world of work?

You will be working for a large charity organisation with great progression opportunities, who provide important support to those with learning disabilities and learning support needs. You will work closely with Haringey Council and College of North East London to deliver a programme of support to young people with SEND support needs. you will provide individually tailored support for young interns helping them to integrate into the work environment, developing their skills and knowledge with the aim of it leading to permanent paid employment. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the young person to plan their journey to work so they can become independent.
  • Attending work with them, working closely with employers to provide support as needed.
  • Help the young person apply for paid work with CV writing, job applications and interview preparation.
  • End of day calls with the young person and employer to check on progress.
  • Liaising closely with the tutor around potential extra support needs.
  • Build relationships with employers to secure internship opportunities.

You will support up to 6 of 12 young people on the programme and you will be making a huge difference in their lives.

To apply, you might be a recent graduate in a related degree such as psychology. Or you might have experience of working with young people with support needs, so could have worked as a tutor, teacher or learning support assistant or teaching assistant. You might have also worked as a support worker, hostel worker, careers advisor or employment advisor.

The role is a full time FTC until 31st July 2025 subject to extension. Working Monday to Friday, between 8:30 - 4:30.
