Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE

Our client, is a specialist in processing super alloys, special steels, and refractory metal scraps, is seeking a Quality Manager to join their team in Rotherham. With over 23 years of expertise, they cater to a diverse range of industries globally, including aerospace, medical, exploration/mining, power generation, electronics, defence, chemical, powder metallurgical, oil and gas, general engineering, and tooling industries.

About the role

As a Quality Manager, you will play a crucial role in formalizing and managing the current QMS, Quality control procedures into a documented and defined system. You will oversee compliance with quality requirements, and manage Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Additionally, you will lead and maintain ISO 9001 certification, and monitor and maintain health and safety documentation.
A huge focus for the company is on ESG & sustainability and you will play a huge supporting role in the certification of this process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formalize and manage current quality control procedures into a documented system
  • Oversee product certification for customers, ensuring compliance with quality requirements
  • Manage Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Lead and maintain ISO 9001 certification, including renewal and audit processes, potentially acquiring additional ISO certifications
  • Organize samples for laboratory testing and instruct testing protocols
  • Monitor and maintain health and safety documentation, including risk assessments, training records, and company statements
  • Collaborate with external Environmental and Health & Safety consultants to ensure compliance
  • Implement Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, producing sustainability reports and certifications
  • Manage Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation for new customers and suppliers

Candidate Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in metal and metal/alloy processing, inspection, and quality standards
  • Proficiency in ESG and sustainability practices
  • Background in quality management and familiarity with ISO9001:2015, ISO 14001
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Quality Role
  • Expertise in internal and external Quality Audits
  • Experience in Health & Safety management
