Finance Analyst (12 month fixed-term maternity cover) - Salary - £34,476 - £40,560 (dependent on experience) - Hybrid working.

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join our excellent Central Finance team within our wider Corporate Services community. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining financial processes, systems and controls as well as providing analysis on financial performance. This role is key to ensuring we promote effective financial management across OS.

As a Financial Analyst you will support the continual development of controls, procedures, and processes, to ensure accounting entries comply with legislation and statutory audit requirements. This role will also require the support, development and maintenance of systems and corresponding processes to enable effective planning, monitoring, and reporting of financial performance, so it is important you are analytical with diligence.

A key part of this role will be providing stakeholders, across the organisation, with guidance and up to date information, to guarantee compliance with financial policies and to promote understanding of financial information. Working closely with our Finance Business Partners to report accurate financial information for our business units and expert functions, supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting, with analysis of financial variances, providing good data to support future planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Key skills & experience we are looking for

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Self-starter & Team player
  • Microsoft D365 experience desired but not essential
  • Expertise in reporting solutions for example Power BI desirable
  • Ability to effectively plan & prioritize work, meeting deadlines in fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills, questions data & looks for root cause

Location: We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend one or two days a week with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home or spend more time at OSHQ.
