We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our client, a leading provider of sector-focussed SaaS software. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of CCNP or CCIE certification and will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting our complex network systems. This role requires a deep understanding of networking concepts, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other IT professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design and Implementation:
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
- Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
- Develop and implement network security measures.
Network Management:
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT team members and other departments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate network documentation and provide regular reports on network performance and issues.
- Document network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance network performance, reliability, and security.
Certifications:
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is required.
- Additional certifications such as CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are a plus.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration or a related field.
- Proven experience with network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Cisco products and technologies is essential.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, and best practices.
- Proficient in network security principles and protocols.
- Familiarity with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.
