Development Researcher and Administrator, Arts, London, fixed term contract role to the end of March 2025, to £28,000 pro-rata

A London based Arts Organisation is looking for a temporary Development Researcher and Administrator to start ASAP. This role will be a fixed term contract to the end of March 2025. Your role will involve maintaining the donor database, researching potential donors and communicating with them, and compiling post project reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update departmental records on our Salesforce database, including contact data, producing reports, and mailing lists as required
  • Support the overall development efforts by identifying new funding prospects through prospect research and pipeline development
  • Support colleagues in compiling information for, drafting and formatting proposals
  • Liaise with Exhibitions, Learning and Communication teams to compile post-project reports
  • Support the team in ensuring prompt communications with prospects and donors, including the drafting of renewal and thank you letters and ensuring accurate credits for our funders on our 'Thank You Wall', in print and online
  • Handle day-to-day financial administration, including processing payments and donations through Direct Debit supplier and contactless terminals
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to track, identify, and code income, ensuring accurate records are maintained
  • Collate Gift Aid declarations and compile the Gallery's annual Gift Aid claim
  • Provide administrative support for patron memberships, processing sign-ups and renewals in a timely manner
  • Ensure timely and appropriate gratitude towards members, donors, and funders, including drafting 'thank you' letters and accurately crediting funders on our 'Thank You Wall' both in print and online
  • Deliver exceptional stewardship to all our supporters, responding promptly and politely to all communications, and ensuring timely and appropriate gratitude towards supporters
  • Support the smooth running of development events, including managing guest lists and RSVPs for patron programme events, cultivation events, our annual gala fundraiser, and events linked to Exhibitions Circles

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 1 least one years experience of working in a complex administrative role within fundraising
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail. Methodical working with speed and accuracy
  • An active interest in working in the cultural sector / the arts, especially contemporary visual art and art education
  • Proven experience in financial administration and record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with Gift Aid regulations and claims
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce or similar CRM databases
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
