We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic Finance Team as an Accounts Assistant.

This role plays a vital part in our financial operations, supporting the Finance Manager with a variety of tax and reporting tasks critical to our business success.

Day-to-Day Tasks

As part of this Accounts Assistant role, you will:

  • Tax Compliance Champion: Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring accurate and timely submissions of VAT, Intrastat, and Plastic Packaging Tax. Work collaboratively with different departments to verify transactions and reconcile information across various data sources.
  • Logistics Reporting Expert: Support the month-end closing process for our logistics sites, guaranteeing accurate monthly expense reporting. This data will contribute to annual PSA returns.
  • Statutory Submissions Support: Provide targeted assistance to the Finance Manager in gathering information required for various statutory submissions throughout the year.

Essential Skills

  • Part-Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant with at least 2 years of experience working within a business
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel essential)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Skills

A working knowledge of VAT and a basic understanding of other taxes is desirable.
