Our Plymouth based client is currently seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the finance function in line with the organisation's strategy, managing its financial resources, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Team.
The responsibilities:
- Ensure legal compliance, oversee accounts preparation and budgeting, maintain accurate financial records, and manage relationships with financial partners.
- Implement internal controls, manage payroll and insurance, optimise cash flow, and maintain effective relationships with finance staff and other stakeholders
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching, workload coordination, performance reviews, and development support for the Finance Team and direct reports.
- Contribute to the company's Risk Register, maintain the company's asset register, oversee IT Service Level Agreements, ensure legal compliance including Health & Safety, and produce financial reports for the company as required.
- Align work with strategic plan and policies, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Attend meetings, contribute to company's image, and demonstrate flexibility to meet evolving needs for development opportunities.
The candidate:
- Full or Part qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or minimum of AAT Level 4
- Proficient in day-to-day financial operations management.
- Demonstrated success in strategic and operational finance management, including budget formulation and rigorous monitoring.
- Experienced in accounting and payroll systems, managing controls in high transaction volume environments, preparing statutory accounts and reports, handling Pension Schemes, VAT issues, and audits.
