The Role

CMT Design and Construction Ltd, a well-established construction company in London, is looking for an experienced and versatile Project Quantity Surveyor to manage up to two development and construction projects simultaneously, from conception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Cost Control: Maintain all project cost control procedures and report on project costs and profitability monthly.
  • Budget Management: Manage and control each project budget and valuation, consistently updating the estimated final costs to ensure absolute cost and value reconciliation.
  • Cash Flow Analysis: Analyse and report on project cash flow.
  • Procurement: Prepare subcontract and material tenders, and procure sub-contractors, goods, and materials.
  • Order Processing: Process sub-contract orders and invoices/payments into the software management system.
  • Valuations & Accounts: Evaluate and agree on subcontractor valuations, variations, and instructions. Provide considered payment certificates and final accounts for approval.

The Person

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a QS in the UK.
  • Proven experience in both residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in verbal and written English.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly organised with excellent multi-tasking abilities.
  • Personal Attributes: Confident, enthusiastic, hardworking, and capable of working independently.
  • Professionalism: Professional with an organised approach to work.
  • Prioritisation: Strong ability to prioritise and organise tasks.
  • Location: Based on-site in London daily, with occasional time at the head office.
  • Experience with CRM software and other sales-related tools.
  • Experience in the sports, athletics, or outdoor performance equipment industry is a plus.
