Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 per annum

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join us, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personalised Student Support: Provide tailored one-to-one and group support for students with a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Adapt Learning Plans: Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and resources to meet the individual needs of SEN students, ensuring full access to the curriculum.
  • Behavioural and Emotional Guidance: Use positive behaviour management techniques to foster a calm and inclusive classroom environment, helping students develop social and emotional skills.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and assess student progress, documenting learning outcomes and liaising with teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure effective interventions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, SEN coordinators, and external professionals to develop and implement effective strategies that meet each student's needs.
  • Support Independence: Encourage students to develop independent learning and life skills, helping them gain confidence in their abilities both inside and outside the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or educational support setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs, particularly those facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (minimum Level 2/C Grade).
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and adapting to the individual needs of students.
