Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a vibrant primary school in Dagenham. This full-time role will focus on providing essential support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them thrive in a mainstream classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to children with ASD, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions between students.
- Adapt lesson materials and teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of the children.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans (IEPs).
- Support students with their social skills and assist with sensory needs where necessary.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring every child feels valued and supported.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with ASD or other Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school setting is essential.
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and the desire to make a positive impact on children's lives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
