We are pleased to be recruiting a Head of Finance role with a growing organisation based in West Oxfordshire on a permanent basis. We are looking for someone with experience of working in an international group with 5+ years PQE and proven leadership experience.
Key duties;
- Monitor and manage the finances for all Western Hub entities
- Monitor forex (foreign exchange) and manage currency risk in line with Group requirements
- Monitor the cash flow of all Western Hub entities
- Monitor the working capital of the organisation
- Ensure supplier payments are approved and processed in line with scheduled payment runs
- Review reconciliations of all balance sheet control accounts
- Review reconciliation of all bank accounts
- Agree all intercompany balances with Group entities, resolving any queries
- Manage intercompany debts and sign off (or agree) payment plans to settle
- Monitor and control the capital expenditure of each entity in accordance with agreed investment plans
- Accountable for all BAU activities such as accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Review and support colleagues with VAT related queries
- Review bi-monthly and quarterly VAT returns for all Western Hub legal entities (where required)
- Responsible for all areas of technical accounting, corporation tax, financial reporting
- Ensure accurate postings of costs to the General Ledger
- Review, investigate and resolve variances from the agreed budgets
- Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly account packs for review by the Finance Director
- Close off the month end within the stipulated timescales set locally and by Group
- Submit the reviewed month end reporting pack (inc. intercompany) to Group
- Establish, monitor and improve internal controls working with teams on designing proper control functions and gathering data on the effectiveness of internal controls
- Lead regular internal audits to ensure all financial controls and processes are operating to the required standard
- Responsible for ensuring strict governance is maintained
- Successfully mentor the finance teams supporting continuous learning and professional development
- Work collaboratively with the Finance Business Partner to prepare financial planning and analysis (inc. budgets and forecasts) for submission to key stakeholders and management
- Support the Finance Director (Western Hub) with finance projects
- Be the key contact and liaise with auditors with regards to the statutory audit
- Prepare and assist with the completion of the audit packs and year end financial statements
- Collate information to help with cashflow forecasting and the forecasting models
- Be a key point of contact for the company's banks (HSBC, ING)
Essential experience for the role;
- Worked for a company with international presence (this would be negotiable if the person shows an aptitude for learning)
- Ability to handle conflict and change management with team
- Experience / ability to handling cultural change
- Sound technical knowledge - VAT, UK GAAP
- Understanding of import/ export
- Group reporting experience
- Proven project / change / transformation exposure / qualification
