Operational Risk Associate - Financial Services

Overview of Role

The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Operational Risk Manager in the maintenance, execution and ongoing development of the Risk Management Framework, as well supporting the delivery of Incident Management and Operational Resilience activities. The role holder will be a part of the second line Risk team ensuring appropriate support, challenge and guidance to the business in a timely and pragmatic manner, ensuring Risk processes are embedded within the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Produce timely and accurate Risk MI for inclusion in relevant reporting for Board and Committees, in line with the Terms of Reference, whilst ensuring reporting content remains fit for purpose
  • Assist with the updating of the Company's overarching Risk Management Framework and associated Policies & Process documents
  • Support the administration of the Company's Risk Appetite Framework and monitoring, reporting and maintaining the suite of Risk Metrics/KRIs, ensuring these are reviewed with business owners on a periodic basis and offering challenge where appropriate
  • Support the maintenance and review of the Company's Risk Registers by way of a comprehensive Risk & Control Self-assessment (RCSA) process, and offering challenge where appropriate
  • Administer the Company's incident management process, maintaining incident logs
  • Administer the Company's Data Protection breach process maintaining the breach log and PIA assessment process
  • Support with the maintenance of the Company's operational resilience planning (including the Business Continuity arrangements) ensuring that they are maintained and challenged for appropriateness
  • Provide support on projects to implement changes and/or respond to new risk based legal and regulatory guidance

  • Able to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritise appropriately and manage stakeholders
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • A strong communicator, possessing an ability to build networks of contacts across the organisation
  • Be open-minded and willing to adapt their style to suit the needs of the organisation
  • PC literate, able to prepare effective presentations and reports. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills will be required

Salary: £40-£45k

Location: Remote based (must live in the UK and hold a UK passport) with ad-hoc travel to Berkshire
