We are seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist school in Woking, providing high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education. Our students, aged 11 to 17 years, have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), and many also have other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Day to Day of the Role

  • Build professional, nurturing, and positive relationships with students, motivating and inspiring them to learn.
  • Plan exciting and engaging learning opportunities tailored to individual needs, challenging students and fostering a sense of awe and wonder.
  • Manage complex and challenging behaviours with attention, effective communication, consistency, and a non-judgemental approach.
  • Contribute to decision-making processes that drive school outcomes and advocate for every child's needs.
  • Develop both the academic curriculum and the extra-curricular offer, incorporating personal interests and passions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH and SEND, such as Autism and ADHD.
  • Ability to manage complex and challenging behaviours.
  • Strong commitment to child-centred and therapeutic approaches to education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A non-judgemental, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
