Bid Manager

I cannot speak highly enough of my client (a B2B energy company) – I have been working with them since they were a start-up and I have watched them grow from strength to strength ever since. They promote their staff from within (I've seen my candidates receive more than one promotion in their time there) and will always encourage and support.

We are working with them in the recruitment for a Bid Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, analysing, and managing bid opportunities, ensuring the submission of high-quality bids, and tracking outcomes to inform future strategies. This role requires close collaboration with various departments to gather necessary information and manage the bid submission process effectively.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Create, develop, and manage commercial material and documentation for the sale of energy solutions to public sector customers.
  • Establish and maintain a Public Sector Bid Library as a central resource for the business.
  • Ensure compliance with internal bid processes and governance structures.
  • Review incoming tenders and bespoke requests, identifying and mitigating key risks.
  • Build strong relationships across internal teams to ensure high-quality bid submissions.
  • Assist in the development of innovative solutions to support a diversified portfolio and revenue growth.
  • Lead bid meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Develop and maintain a bid plan with a clear schedule of activities and deadlines.
  • Track and report on the status of submitted bids and provide updates to senior management.
  • Analyse feedback from bids to identify areas for improvement and enhance future strategies.
  • Conduct post-bid reviews to capture lessons learned.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for timely bid submissions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex products and processes into clear commercial material.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on consistency and accuracy.
  • Balance commercial demands with best practice and robust processes.
  • Dependable and able to work closely with a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Innovative mindset with the desire to deliver additional value.
  • High level of people skills, confident, persuasive, and a collaborative team player.

Experience:

  • Proven track record in coordinating the entire bid process.
  • Experience in bespoke writing for Public Sector bids with consistently high scores.
  • Experience in developing commercial material, such as product documentation, tender responses, and contract agreements.
  • Track record of enhancing business processes, tools, and material.
  • Understanding of UK energy supply products & processes is desirable.
