A specialist school in Merton that supports pupils with SEMH needs are looking for confident and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their staff team in September.

The Role

In this role you will be supporting students within either the primary or secondary sites. Students are taught in small mixed age classes and follow a range of national curriculum subjects which are differentiated and delivered in creative and meaningful ways. Alongside standard lessons, students access social development sessions and experiences to develop self-esteem including trips, cooking and sports sessions.

You will support pupils within classes and in therapy sessions and off-site activities. You will sometimes be providing 1 to 1 support as well as supporting the teachers and therapists.

The school are looking for multiple Teaching Assistants to join the school in September on a full-time, long-term contract basis.

The school

This special school is for both primary and secondary pupils with an EHCP with SEMH as a primary need from the borough of Merton. The primary school has been recently added and benefits from being a brand-new purpose-built site which includes a variety of core teaching areas, break-out spaces and a brand-new Sports Hall. All pupils benefit from small class sizes and teaching from a highly skilled and nurturing staff team which includes Teachers, support staff, therapists and social workers.

This setting is part of a larger group of specialist provision schools across the borough of Merton supporting students who are unable to access mainstream education. There is an experienced, dedicated leadership team in place and staff are able to access both training and support to enable them to affectively support all students.
