Robert Half are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to support our financial consolidation, reporting, and compliance efforts.
This is a contract role based in Swindon for approx 3 months.
The ideal candidate will have experience in month-end processes, cost centre reporting, and audit support, with a strong understanding of VAT and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Pack Preparation:

Prepare and compile the month-end financial pack, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Analyse variances and provide insights to support management decision-making.
- Financial Consolidation:

Assist in the consolidation of financial statements ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary data for consolidation.
- Cost Centre Reporting:

Generate and analyse cost centre reports to monitor performance against budgets.

Provide detailed insights and recommendations based on cost analysis.
- Audit Support:

Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Ensure that financial records are well-organised and easily accessible.
- Sales Reports:

Prepare and present sales reports, highlighting trends and key performance indicators.

Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accuracy and completeness of sales data.
- ONS/FCA Reporting:

Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure compliance.
- VAT Compliance:

Assist with the preparation and filing of VAT returns.

Monitor VAT compliance and address any discrepancies or queries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Sage software
- Knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
- ACA /ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is a plus.
