Indirect Procurement Business Partner

Opportunity for an experienced Procurement Business Partner to provide category expertise and lead procurement initiatives within the Indirect Procurement team. The ideal candidate will be a true leader in procurement, effectively consulting and influencing both internal and external stakeholders, and promoting high professional standards.

Day to day of the role:

  • Planning and organising category work streams, both tactically and strategically.
  • Managing and potentially growing your direct reports, starting with at least one Procurement Administrator.
  • Optimising total value delivery to the end user, ensuring timeliness and quality standards are met.
  • Supporting and motivating the Procurement team to achieve departmental performance metrics.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure the best value for the business.
  • Rationalising and developing the supplier base to align with business value objectives.
  • Leading cross-functional teams for RFI and RFP processes.
  • Collaborating with budget holders to ensure stakeholder requirements are met and facilitate effective procurement delivery.
  • Advising on negotiation outcomes and alternative strategies to meet budgetary targets or align with wider procurement strategies.
  • Providing procurement leadership to internal stakeholders, utilising experience and influencing skills.
  • Implementing Procurement initiatives as directed and supporting on strategic accounts/projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Substantial relevant procurement experience.
  • Essential experience in indirect category management.
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record as a people manager or mentor to junior team members.
  • Strong relationship-building skills at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and prioritise operational requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and team-working abilities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
