Role Overview:

As a Senior HR Assistant, you'll be a key part of our client's HR operations. Reporting to the HR Manager, you'll oversee essential HR processes, including payroll, database management, and supporting recruitment activities. You'll also supervise a small team, so confidence and leadership are essential. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone passionate about people, who enjoys a varied role that contributes to a positive workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the HR Manager with daily HR operations and assist colleagues across the business.
  • Manage personnel records and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Handle payroll processes and manage employee attendance and sickness records.
  • Play an active role in recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
  • Conduct exit interviews, return-to-work meetings, and address employee queries.
  • Act as a First Aider and Health & Safety representative.
  • Ensure HR documentation is up-to-date and compliant with employment laws.
  • Stay informed about current employment legislation and HR best practices.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have 4+ years of HR experience, ideally in a law firm.
  • Hold CIPD Level 3/Certificate in People Practice (or working towards Level 5).
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Have a proactive, flexible approach to problem-solving and multi-tasking.
  • Show a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Be a true team player, with a collaborative mindset.
