Working Monday to Friday full time

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are working with a friendly, vibrant company based in York, North Yorkshire who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team.

The Role

This is an exciting time for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a team of 5 in this vibrant and entrepreneurial business. The company are in the process of upgrading several software packages throughout the business and planning the implementation of new finance software. This position would provide help and assistance to ensure a smooth development and integration process.

Duties

  • Timely and accurate coding, verifying & processing of multi-currency purchase invoices and resolving any discrepancies with delivery notes/purchase orders
  • Liaising with suppliers and investigating/resolving queries.
  • Ensure purchase ledger deadlines are met.
  • Administration of supplier accounts, including new supplier onboarding and periodic review of terms to maximise any potential credit periods.
  • Processing daily, weekly and monthly payment runs in various foreign currencies, ensuring payment to agreed terms, to include supplier invoices, tax payments, other admin payments.
  • Posting and allocation of supplier payments and supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Ensuring correct VAT coding and compliance with VAT regulations for company VAT return submissions in the UK, Belgium and CZK Republic.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required to support the efficient running of the purchase ledger and finance department for the Group. This will include covering for the Sales Ledger Controller during holiday periods.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2-3 years previous experience within Purchase Ledger.
  • Excellent organisational skills with an ability to prioritise a busy and demanding workload.
  • Flexible and methodical, with a good attention to detail. A positive attitude is imperative.
  • A good team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of working with multi currencies would be a distinct advantage.
  • Good IT skills are required, including Microsoft suite although full training will be given on bespoke IT systems.
