Job Title: Supported Living Service Manager (Mental Health)

Location: Based in Coventry, overseeing 6 single tenancies across the West Midlands.

Salary: £37,000 - £45,000

About Our Client: Our client collaborates with local authorities to support vulnerable young adults by providing warm and nurturing environments tailored to their unique needs. Their mission is for service users to feel that the service and the house they live in is their own home, believing that comfort in their surroundings is imperative. Through their tailored person-centred service, they aim to address the individual needs of each vulnerable person with the help of their qualified staff trained in therapeutic crisis intervention. The team understands the complex needs of young people and adults, so are committed to helping local authorities fulfil their obligations by preventing vulnerable people from becoming at risk.

Job Purpose: To provide effective leadership and management of Supported Living services for individuals with mental health needs. The Service Manager will ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and support in compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the supported living services, ensuring high-quality care and support delivery.
  • Develop and implement person-centred support plans in collaboration with service users, their families, and other professionals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support plans and make necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards.

Team Management:

  • Recruit, select, and develop a high-performing team of support workers.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, training, and support to staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and appraisals.
  • Manage staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Address staff concerns and grievances in a timely and appropriate manner.

Financial Management:

  • Manage the service budget effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor income and expenditure and ensure financial compliance.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports as required.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

External Relationships:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders, including commissioners, healthcare professionals, and local authorities.
  • Represent the organisation at relevant meetings and forums.

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of service users.
  • Respond to and investigate safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

Person Specification:

  • Essential qualifications in health and social care or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing Supported Living services for individuals with mental health needs.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
