Salary: Grade 3 B-E £16,559 to £16,791 (£23,314 - £24,142 FTE)

Hours: 23 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term time only

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 2pm (Flexibility if needed)

Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a hardworking and committed person to join a Secondary School based in Farnborough as a Food Technician. This role is a permanent, part time position.

The school is a secondary school based in Farnborough, a vibrant and driven school that supports the development of the whole child and celebrates success. The school are on a journey to continually improve and are dedicated to looking for dedicated staff to enhance what the school can offer. You will be working under the Food Technology Teacher providing assistance to both them and the pupils within the classroom.

As the Food Technician, your main role within the school will be to provide assistance in meeting practical needs of food and nutrition. You will provide technical support and advice to teaching staff to enable them to deliver in small groups for practical projects where possible, and ensure the maintenance of a healthy and safe environment. You will have active contributions to the assessment and monitoring of health and safety procedures and resources, keeping up to date with current through Continuing Professional Development.

The salary for this role is currently set between £16,559 to £16,791 (£23,314 - £24,142 FTE).

For this role, you will be/will need:

  • Previous experience as a Food Technician or similar desired
  • Knowledge of current Health and Safety procedures regarding food safety is required
  • Able to keep up to date records of stock
  • A creative and supportive background, and able to keep up to date with tasks
  • Able to work a fast paced role

This role is currently set to start in September 2024, and is a part time, term time only role.
