Job Description for the Learning Support Assistant, Oldham OL10
We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our secondary school in Oldham, OL10. This full-time, long-term position is dedicated to supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students with special needs and challenging behaviour and you will be supporting them on a 1-1 basis.
Responsibilities for the learning support Assistant, Oldham OL10
- Provide tailored support to students with special needs and challenging behaviour on a 1-1 basis.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to monitor and track student progress.
- Help prepare learning materials and resources to support students' educational needs.
Requirements for the learning support assistant role in Oldham OL10:
- Previous experience working with children with special needs and challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student development
