Our client's company, based in Plymouth, is seeking a Material Controller who will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the engineering department. As a Material Controller, you will be responsible for verifying purchase orders, tracking orders, resolving issues with suppliers and vendors, monitoring inventory levels, and placing orders for adequate supplies. If you have excellent organisational skills, great attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify that all purchase orders are accurate and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Track all orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any potential issues with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock shortages and inform the team of any inventory discrepancies.
- Place orders for adequate supplies, taking into account budget limitations and project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases and transactions.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of critical and high-value items.
- Proactively identify areas for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement process.
- Regularly report on material supply status and provide updates to the engineering team.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
