A special education school in Wiltshire has an opportunity for a pro-active individual to join their team as an Autism Specialist, supporting their students with a primary diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition. The school provide education students between the ages of 4-19 with additional needs and social, emotional and mental health needs. Joining the team as an Autism Specialist you will be supporting students both on a 1-1 basis and in small groups, with access to specialist facilities and equipment such as:

  • Science laboratories
  • Food technology rooms
  • Construction areas
  • Computer suites
  • Sensory and therapy spaces
  • Outdoor & indoor playgrounds

Joining the school in an Autism Specialist role you will play a crucial part in the students developing life skills and independence to help them reach their full potential in education and in society. The school has recently converted their new school buildings to specifically support the complex needs of their students and they are looking for an Autism Specialist to with the same level of dedication and passion to help students excel. Working as an Autism Specialist will include building trust and creating a safe space for students to express themselves. In turn, you will encourage effective communication techniques in order to help the students with their interaction skills and building connections.
