Financial Controller
Location: Oxford / Hybrid
Salary Range: £85,000 - £90,000
Job Summary:
As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in steering this state-of-the-art company towards its ambitious targets. This will be led through astute financial management and strategic foresight. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a critical project proving genuine value.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: - Ensure robust financial systems and processes are in place to support the company's growth and R&D activities.
- Group financial control ead all aspects of group financial accounting.
- Maintain accurate and complete books of account to defined standards and in accordance with the group's accounting policies, structured to enable optimal performance reporting;
- Review the monthly accounts, including the completion of balance sheet recs.
- Strategic Planning - Contribute to the strategic planning process, providing financial insights that guide decision-making and resource allocation.
- Compliance and Reporting: - Oversee compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Budget management: Lead the budgeting process, monitoring financial performance against budget, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Stakeholder engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial objectives align with broader company goals.
Skills and Attributes:
- Qualified Accountant: ACA (preferably Top 6 trained) or ACCA, or CIMA qualified with significant experience in a similar role including leadership and experience developing a team
- Strategic Thinker - Ability to contribute to strategic planning and decision-making with a forward-looking perspective.
- Strong technical accounting background/knowledge (IFRS)
- Leadership: - Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing finance team.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
